When Cate Blanchett played an ice-cold lesbian star conductor in the film “Tár”, the American Marin Alsop complained that many details of the story had been drawn from her biography and distorted. Now Alsop is coming back to Berlin – with the “Appalachian Spring” suite by the gay US composer Aaron Copland, with music by Villa-Lobos, Brett Dean and Outi Tarkiainen.
