A cinematic portrait of the lesbian poet
"Audre Lorde: African-American, mother of two childs, lesbian, poet. The portrait consists mainly of interviews with Audre Lorde during the last years of her life, which were characterized by her ongoing battle with cancer (she died in 1992). This is supplemented by archive footage, readings of her poems and conversations with fellow campaigners, including Sonia Sanchez and Adrienne Rich." The documentary also highlights her time in Germany and her influence on the German women's movement and the Black movement in Germany.
